Why Not Join the Big Balsam Bash?

On six Saturday mornings in June, July and August, Friends’ volunteers are running balsam clearance sessions that are open to the public to join. We will be meeting in the Coach House courtyard at 9:30am on the following dates:

6^th & 20^th June

4^th & 18^th July

15^th & 29^th August

Alternatively, you can do it independently to best suit your availability. Pulling up the plants is easy and satisfying! It just needs a slow pull near the base, snapping off the root and making a pile; both adults and children can do it. Come wearing gloves, long sleeves and long trousers as there might also be nettles and thistles to avoid. Balsam may produce pretty flowers, but it crowds out native plants and is taking over the Park!
