Over two planting seasons 20,000 snowdrop bulbs, donated by Chorley Council, were planted to create the Astley Park Snowdrop Trail. Friends’ volunteers were assisted with the planting by pupils from Astley Park School and members of the public. The route of the trail is waymarked from the main path in the Park opposite the front of the Hall and forms an approximately half a mile long circuit down the Dam Wall Steps to and along the River Chor westwards as far as the Lost Fountain and then back along the woodland edge of the lawn opposite the bowling greens.
