Once again, the Chorley Flower Show is happening, and the Friends are represented there with two exhibits.
This year we again have a stall staffed by our volunteers where you can discover all about what we do, join us as a member or simply donate to our funds. We are located near the carousel.
Also, we have created a community garden. This year the theme for the community gardens is Hollywood Blockbuster Films. Our garden features the movie ‘Back to the Future’ and relates it to Astley Park by showing features that existed here in 1955 (a key date in the film), the Park as it is now, and how it might look in 100 years’ time. All the community gardens are sited along the path from the lake bridge to the big marquee. Here is our finalised garden, pictured below.
