We are planning to have an extra working day this coming Saturday the 7th August with the intention of removing some more Balsam before the flowers start to disperse their seeds.
With this in mind we will be meeting up at the Sensory Garden with a start time of 9.30am.
For any new members who are interested in helping with the Balsam, it is advisable to wear gloves, have long sleeves (protection against nettles or brambles) and suitable footwear as the ground can be uneven and wet.
Jan will be working at the Sensory Garden where there is some planting and more ground maintenance to be done and is always grateful of help – again meeting up at 9.30am.
There will also be the opportunity of scouring the park for litter. Hopefully visitors to the Flower Show will not have created too much mess.
We hope to see you there.
If you would like to see what Friends of Astley Park are all about or you’d just like to come and say hello please come over to see us, we’d be delighted to meet you.
