The service organised by Chorley Council at the parks war memorial on the Sunday nearest to the 11th November (this year it was the 10th) was very well attended by the people of Chorley.
Every year more and more people turn up to pay their respects. It is lovely to see families, the young, the old all mixing with servicemen, servicewomen and veterans. This years service was very touching.
On the actual 11th November, Remembrance Day the council arranged in the evening to have the Cenotaph and surrounding memorial illuminated. Even though it was a cold and windy night it had to be seen and it was fascinating and very atmospheric. We hope you like the pictures below.
