This morning was very special as Chorley’s Mayor Councillor Margaret Lees opened and dedicated the restored fountain that we have been working on over that last year or so.
The fountain was dedicated to one of our longest standing members, the late Rosemary Boyd, a keen historian who instigated research into the origins of this find.
The fountain can be found on the western side of Astley Park just up the main path leading from Ackhurst Lodge, or from Astley Hall by walking past the bowling greens and down the hill and just over the bridge.
