Since last Autumn pupils of Buckshaw Gardening Club have been growing wildflowers to plant in the woodland in Astley Park.
On 29th June six of Buckshaw Schools pupils, two members of staff, two organisers of the Gardening Club plus a few of our members met up to plant these wildflowers. Luckily the rain stopped and the planting was quickly completed.
These new plants will provide pollen and nectar and seeds for bees, butterflies, moths and finches.
